Caritas Ambassadors
We have selected 10 children from Year 3 up to Year 6.
At Holy Name , we have a dedicated and well-established Caritas Ambassador team. Our Caritas Ambassadors are responsible for ensuring that all pupils in our school know, love and follow Christ by putting their faith into action. Our Caritas Ambassador team is made up of volunteers from Key Stage Two and they are responsible for planning and delivering social action projects across the school. The Caritas Ambassadors have been trained by Kathryn Ansley from Caritas and use their increased understanding of the issues faced by our local and global communities to create an action plan to be a voice for change and social action.
They are responsible for ensuring that we promote the Caritas seven strands of Catholic Social Teaching:
Dignity of the Human Person
Family and Community
Solidarity of the Common Good
Rights and Responsibilities
Option for the Poor and Vulnerable
The dignity of Work
Stewardship
The Caritas Ambassadors led our Harvest Collection this year for Cornerstone. We collected all the donations from each class and dropped them to Cornerstone Day Centre with Mr Regan. We are hoping that the food will make a big difference to those who need it!
Throughout the month of October 2025, the GIFT Team and Caritas Ambassadors led a Rosary prayer group every lunchtime, providing our KS2 pupils with the opportunity to pause and say a decade of the Rosary.
You can see some of the exciting things we have been doing below.
October 2025
Our amazing Caritas Ambassadors have been busy spreading kindness this week as they delivered our Harvest Festival donations to Cornerstone alongside Mr Regan.
During their visit, the students had the opportunity to meet the cook at Cornerstone, who shared how the generous donations from our school will be used to prepare warm, nutritious meals for people in need within our local community.
The experience gave our pupils a real insight into the importance of charitable giving and the impact small acts of kindness can have on the lives of others. They represented our school beautifully—showing compassion, empathy and a true commitment to our shared values.
We are incredibly proud of our Caritas Ambassadors for putting faith into action and demonstrating what it means to serve others. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Cornerstone in the months ahead, supporting their vital work and strengthening our connection with the wider community.
