Holy Name School Council
Our School Council are selected at the start of the academic year. Each class in Key Stage1 and Key Stage 2 have 2 representatives on the council.
They meet with Miss Ali each half term and decide upon activities for the school calander and activities during lunchtime.
The coucil are currently running a Computer club on a Monday lunchtime and pupils can register from any class from Y1 to Y6.
The School Council at Holy Name RC Primary School is proud to represent the voice of
every class and every child. Our councillors are elected by their peers and work hard to
listen to others to ensure that pupils feel heard and valued. We regularly share
feedback with staff and help make decisions that benefit the whole school community.
Through our work, we promote the caring, respectful, and inclusive ethos of Holy Name
Primary School, encouraging responsibility, teamwork, and mutual respect.
Throughout the year, the School Council has led and supported a wide range of key
themes and events that reflect our school values. These have included Anti-Bullying
Week, National Teaching Assistants Day, and Children’s Mental Health Day, alongside
many other important occasions. We have helped raise awareness, shared key messages
in classes and assemblies, and encouraged pupils to show kindness, gratitude, and
understanding towards one another.
This year, the School Council has also run lunchtime clubs to promote friendship,
kinship, and a sense of belonging. These clubs have provided pupils with a safe and
welcoming space to make friends, work together, and feel included. In addition, we have
given pupils opportunities to vote on school matters, helping them understand
democracy and the importance of having a voice. Through all of our activities, the
School Council continues to support a positive school environment where every child
feels respected, included, and proud to be part of Holy Name Primary School.
